beyond song

Hi there. I'm an 18 year old student. I like music and I like to write. I may make .gifs here too. I like searching for great hidden-gems of songs. I think powerful music is the best kind, whether it makes you feel incredibly happy or incredibly sad, so there will be a lot of that here. All of this is really just my attempt at describing music, putting it down into words - something that's not done very often and something that's incredibly individual. I'd be happy to hear of your experiences with music too. Hopefully you'll find a lovely song around here. I might also try to be funny. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Mean Lady - Indian Sun

An imperfect song is a great song. The bold, repetitive beat is gorgeous and I love how the voice-over at the beginning slides perfectly into the song. I’ve noticed Mean Lady do that with their other songs too, like “Lonely” (which you should check out!). Their unusual sound and passionate singing is something great and new, mixing aspects of just about every genre. Their music reminds me a bit of twinkling wind chimes - you either hate it or love it. I love it and, to my flatmates’ misfortune, I insist on singing at the top of my lungs whenever it plays on my iPod.
